On March 27 and 28, 2019, Dalhousie University will be hosting a satellite event for the Families in Canada Conference 2019!

The local panel sessions in Halifax will highlight work being done by local academic and community researchers to gather, understand and use data to benefit families in Nova Scotia. Presentations will be combined with opportunities for dialogue and discussion, and delegates will have opportunities to identify areas for ongoing collaboration.

Presentations and discussions will focus on two themes:

Day 1 (March 27): Safe, Sound and Healthy: Data Benefitting Families in Nova Scotia

Day 2 (March 28): Knowledge Translation: Making Data Meaningful for Families

Presentations will include:

  • Effective solutions for managing procedural pain related to vaccinations
  • Better nights, better days: family-based interventions to improve sleep in children
  • Building and nurturing collaborative networks to support evidence-based early childhood policies, programs and practices
  • Understanding community safety through crime incident data

… and much more!

Dalhousie is pleased to partner with Mount Saint Vincent University, the IWK Health Centre and Wisdom2Action Ltd. to host this event.
